The story of Kitty

Kitty

“Hello, I’m kitty. I know, creative name. If you didn’t realize, I’m a cat. Or a kitty as my human slaves call me. And let’s just make things clear the only reason I’m telling you my life story is because my human slaves promised to give me wet food. So… It all started when I was just born. I was born in a box with three sisters in an ally way. My mom loved us very much but good food was rare and we were always hungry. One day when playing tag my mom spotted a human walking toward us she moewed to us to hide but only two of my sisters heard her. My sister Fluffy, and I were suddenly grabbed by two huge furless paws. Fluffy and I moewed as loud as we could as we were pulled away from our mother and our two sisters. In a moment of panic I bit down as hard as I could in an attempt to get away. The human dropped me and I ran. But as I turned to see if my sister escaped as well I was grabbed by two smaller hands and dragged to a huge metal monster thing. I was thrown inside along with Fluffy as well as the humans. I got as close as I could to Fluffy and squished my muzzle into her fur as the metal monster started moving.

The metal monster occasionally stopped but one time it didn’t start again. Suddenly the door to the metal monster opened and we were dragged out once again. I knew fighting was futile so I stayed limp as my sister wriggled, yowling, and hissing. She turned her head to me and the anger in her eyes turned to fear. After a while she went limp too. We were taken into a building and set on the counter held still by one of the humans as they spoke their gibberish. Suddenly the human behind the counter scooped us up and took us to a nearby door. The human that had us in the car rushed over to open the door and we were pulled inside. I saw dozens of cats in cages most of them were staring at us silently but some of the smaller cats moewed at us with glittery eyes. We were looking around at the various cats when suddenly Fluffy and I were pushed into a cage with two orange, and quite handsome, tabby cats. I jumped as the door slammed close behind us. ‘Hi!’ said the smallest of the two kittens running up to us. ‘I’m tiger and this is my brother smudge.’ He flicked his head towards the other cat in the cage who was sleeping comfortably. He recited the words so perfectly that it seemed he had practiced, but I was unprepared. ‘Uh, I-I’m Kitty. A-and this is F-fluffy.’ He looked at me questioningly. ‘Kitty, huh? That’s an odd name.’ I wanted to get mad at him but instead I just found myself staring into his eyes awkwardly. He moved out of my view and I snapped back into reality.

It was many months later when Tiger, Smudge, Fluffy, and I were separated into personal cages and many months after that when I was picked by a tiny human to be taken home. I became very lonely at the human house. I thought I lonely when I got my own cage but at least I knew the others were OK. One day the little human that chose me walked in the door and crouched down beside me. He started speaking his gibberish and then walked back over to the and opened it slightly. I stayed in the same spot for a little while not getting the purpose of it when suddenly a handsome orange tabby face peered in. I moewed in surprise and he turned his head toward me. He ran over to me and rubbed his muzzle against my head. ‘I can’t believe you’re here! It’s been so long since I’ve seen you Tiger.’ He purred at the sound of his name and licked my ear. ‘I missed you too.” He moewed happily. ‘How are Fluffy and Smudge?’ I asked. ‘They’re fine. Fluffy had her kittens just before they were both adopted along with the kittens.’ Right I had nearly forgotten that Fluffy and Smudge were waving kittens.

After that life was good. I had kittens of my own with Tiger and I found out that Fluffy and Smudge lived down the road. I visited them occasionally and everyone lived happily ever after.” I lick my paw contently and my human walks past. “Hey! Hey! Give me wet food you promised.” I run after my human and Tiger faces you. “That was your mom’s life story kits. goodbye.”

  1. I love how you wrote this as if you were the cat- you didn't just write it in first person, you added little bits that make it seem like it really is a cat talking!
