We were given this picture in writing class and we had to try and see what happened. This is my take on the illustration.
Arthur and Queenie walk in the house coming back from an event just down the road in which both people got drunk. Queenie walked upstairs, accidentally scooting part of the cloth on the stairs over leaving an unprotected spot on the stairs, to take a shower and Arthur Grabs a robe to protect his suit from the food he was about to cook. After cooking the food for a while his wife called to him from upstairs and asked for a glass of water. He grabbed the water and walked to the stairs as he lifted his first foot a small amount of the clear liquid spilled in the the unclothed part of the stairs and he stepped on it slipping backwards and falling with a bang, glass still in hand, unconscious. As the wife heard the bang she called his name and after being met with no response she rushed downstairs After seeing her husband she crouched down beside him. She felt his pulse and stood up to call the police which explains the look on her face.
